The vast thematic range and the highly inter- and transdisciplinary nature of this NRP require intense scientific co-ordination, both within and between modules. Future users and implementing parties should be part of the information transfer from the start. Click here to learn how this is being achieved.

Scientific co-ordination
Scientific co-ordination comprises the following areas:
- scientific monitoring of projects,
- guaranteeing mutual information and effective collaboration between the projects and between groups of projects working on a particular theme,

- co-ordination with related research programmes and research activities on a national and international level,
- achieving synthesis work, especially working out ideas for the second phase of the research.
Scientific co-ordination is effected through:
- direct contact between the scientific co-ordinator, the members of the Steering Committee and the researchers,
- direct contact between research groups and between groups of projects working on a particular theme,
- fostering international contacts, particularly the organisation of national and international events for researchers,
